Racks

Open the Racks Dialog Box

  1. From the File > OpenComms Settings > ISP dialog select the Racks tab.
  2. The Rack Editor dialog box opens.

Edit a Rack

  1. Select a rack from the Rack List. Highlighting the rack loads the information into the dialog box.
  2. Edit the Rack Editor input fields as necessary.
    Note: If fields are unavailable for selecting, this means that the rack is in use and cannot be modified.
  3. Click Update to save changes into the spec file.

Create a Rack

  1. Key in the rack ID in the database field.
  2. Click Add to save the rack into the spec file and to make the dimension fields available.
  3. Key in the Inside Width, Inside Height, Width, Height and Depth.
  4. Enter the Rack Weight, its Maximum Capacity Weight (excluding the rack weight) and the Rack Units which represents the distance between the holes in the rack where equipment can be placed.
  5. Enter the remaining fields. The Kick Plate Height, Rack Use, Type, Manufacture Part #, Internal Part #, Cost, rack annotation Text Style and Text Weight.
  6. Click Update to save the span into the spec file.

Delete a Rack

  1. Highlight the name in the Rack List.
  2. Click Delete to remove the rack from the spec file.
    Note: A Rack model that is in use within a project cannot be deleted. In order to delete a Rack model from the Rack Editor dialog, all of that particular Rack model must be replaced in the existing network before it can be removed.
